In this 9-month online and on-site course, you’ll experience an in-depth, integrated exploration of the science and direct application of wholebeing positive psychology.
Apply the whole-person approach personally and professionally in leadership, counseling, coaching, parenting, or teaching in order to

Graduates leave with the tools, practices, and research to support an increased capacity for health, strengthened resilience, deeper mindfulness, and greater levels of overall well-being.
The program consists of nine modules, and runs from February 1–August 23, 2021. The experience is delivered through live interactive webinars, virtual group interactions, pre-recorded videos, and two live online immersions.
Attendance at the immersions is required. The first required online immersion is Saturday, March 6—Sunday, March 7, during which students are connected in small groups that study together. The second required online immersion is Saturday, August 21—Sunday, August 22, in which students will present their final projects. The other live monthly webinars are recorded; attendance is strongly encouraged but not mandatory.
Tuition also includes two optional on-site Wholebeing Experiences held at the Himalayan Institute in Honesdale, Pennsylvania, Thursday, April 8–Sunday, April 11; and Thursday, October 1–Sunday, October 4, 2021.

In this course, we study and apply the evidence-based research in positive psychology to enhance self-leadership—the ability to pilot our life towards the good.
The online lessons combine prerecorded video lectures, live question-and-answer sessions via video webinars with rotating faculty, special guest webinars focusing on the practice of positive psychology, reading assignments, forum discussions, homework, and small-group work.
Students may begin Module 1: Introduction to Wholebeing Happiness within two weeks of registering for the course, building a self-directed foundation before the entire student body comes together for Module 2.

A Whole-Body Experience
The course extends the dimensions of positive psychology with a rare whole-person approach. Rather than a cognitive-only perspective on the science of well-being, students follow the SPIRE methodology.
You have a teaching team supporting your learning experience, integrating expert advice in an organized and methodical way.
You connect with lead faculty in weekly video lectures, and that content is expanded through interviews with guest faculty. We also invite guest lecturers to join us for the live webinars and on-site immersions. This means that you’ll not only see leading experts in the online classroom, but also experience live lectures by renowned positive psychology researchers and practitioners.
Between the optional in-person Wholebeing Experiences, the live webinars, and the recorded lectures and interviews, you’re exposed to many voices and perspectives within a consistent and cohesive learning experience.
is the award-winning author of Infinity in a Box, A Minute for Me, and Radically Receptive Meditation. With a degree in nuclear medicine, decades of leadership experience, and many years of teaching and practicing yoga, Megan combines intellectual understanding with an embodied approach to teaching and leading. She is the lead faculty for the online modules, and teaches at both immersions.
Maria Sirois, PsyD
Maria has been teaching at the forefront of wellness, psychology, and spirituality for more than two decades. She’s the author of Every Day Counts and A Short Course in Happiness After Loss (And Other Dark, Difficult Times), and holds a doctorate in psychology. Maria is the lead faculty for Module 7: Resilience. She also teaches at both immersions.
Phoebe Atkinson, LCSW-R
Phoebe is a psychotherapist and coach in private practice. She uses experiential training methods to help groups and individuals gain personal insight and effectiveness. For over a decade, Phoebe has partnered extensively with The Next Level in the design and facilitation of executive leadership programs and peer mentoring circles. Since 2012, she has served as a teaching assistant, teaching assistant mentor, and faculty member for the certificate program, and oversees student groups online.
Karen is a positive psychology scholar/practitioner with extensive corporate and higher education experience. She focuses on research and practice at the intersection of ideal self, teams, and performance excellence; and instructional design and delivery that cultivates immediate and long-term skills and habits. Karen is a frequent presenter at positive psychology and management conferences, has over 20 publications, and is an award-winning researcher. She holds a PhD in Organizational Studies. Karen teaches at the CiWPP immersions and on the webinars.
Lynda holds an MBA from Wharton, and spent 20 years as an executive with Johnson & Johnson, where she ran a billion-dollar global consumer healthcare business that includes some of the world’s most iconic brands. A Positive Psychology Coach and the Director of WBI’s Positive Psychology Coach Certification program, Lynda is the lead faculty for Module 6: Realizing Dreams.
Megha Nancy Buttenheim, MA, E-RYT 1000
Megha is CEO and founding director of Let Your Yoga Dance®, and author of Expanding Joy: Let Your Yoga Dance, Embodying Positive Psychology. An expert in experiential education, Megha is a longtime teacher trainer at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, where she has trained thousands of people in yoga, health, movement, and meditation.
