Building a Thriving Coaching Practice is a practical, action-oriented course that prepares new and established coaches to take steps toward developing a successful practice.

  • Building a Thriving Coaching Practice is a 6-week course that runs from Monday, September 11, to Friday, October 20, 2017. Live classes will be held each Wednesday from noon to 1:30 pm ET. After the final day of class, students will have another five weeks of access to the virtual classroom, including the recordings of webinars.

    Course Elements

    The course is designed to engage students with the material in three primary ways:

    • Live presentations and Q&As focusing on the key concepts and practical steps to building a thriving coaching practice
    • Action Worksheets designed to help students apply the course material to the development of their own coaching practice
    • Optional peer support sessions during which students think through their worksheet assignments, clarify their coaching visions, and commit to specific next steps.

    This course is for all coaches and prospective coaches, whether you are thinking about starting a practice, struggling to get established, or looking for new ways to grow your existing practice.


    Program Faculty

    Lynda Wallace is a certified Positive Psychology Coach with a thriving practice offering career, life, and executive coaching to local clients in her office in Montclair, New Jersey, and to clients around the world by phone and video. She holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and spent 20 years as an executive with Johnson & Johnson, where she ran a billion-dollar global consumer products business that includes some of the world’s most iconic brands.

    Lynda is the author of the #1 Amazon self-help best-seller A Short Course in Happiness, the creator of the coach training program at Wholebeing Institute, and a mentor to coaches around the world. She loves her work.


    Wholebeing Institute uses state-of-the-art, user-friendly webinar technology that allows you to see the faculty via video, watch the slides during the presentation, and participate during the live events, through your computer or your mobile device. Presentation materials will be e-mailed in advance. Recordings will be posted following each session for students who are unable to join live or would like to review the material again.

    Online engagement is also fostered within the discussion forum, where students and faculty connect for questions and conversations about the course material.

    Schedule and Time Commitment

    Live classes will be held Wednesdays from 12:00–1:30 pm ET on September 13 through October 18, 2017. The course includes six live webinars, with recordings available for anyone unable to join live.

    We estimate that students will put in a total of three to four hours per week to get the most from the course.

    Action Worksheets

    Each week, students will complete Action Worksheets designed to help them review key material and actively apply that week’s lessons to building their own coaching practice.

    Peer Support

    All students will have the option of participating in weekly peer support sessions. Students who choose to participate will meet by phone weekly in pairs for one hour to think through worksheet assignments, clarify their coaching visions, and commit to specific next steps.
