Tal Ben-Shahar and I have been looking forward to expanding WBI’s foundational Certificate in Whole Person Positive Psychology program. We’re excited to collaborate with Geelong Grammar School, a world leader in positive education, to now offer the course in Australia.

The yearlong certificate course will involve a combination of onsite and online study in the scientific exploration of optimal human functioning, with the onsite component being held at Geelong Grammar School’s Corio Campus.

Students learn and apply the science of positive psychology personally and professionally in leadership, counseling, coaching, parenting or teaching in order to bring about lasting change in individuals and organizations, create healthy personal and professional relationships, build positive emotions and the resilience to deal with painful ones, and to develop self-regard and grounded optimism. Graduates leave with the tools, practices, and research to support an increased capacity for health, strengthened resilience, deeper mindfulness and greater levels of overall well-being.

The course starts in May 2015 and runs through to July 2016 and consists of 10 modules, including two onsite five-day residential immersions.

“Dr. Tal Ben-Shahar, as a visiting fellow at Geelong Grammar School in 2012, made a lasting impact on our school, providing inspiring lectures to students, parents and the wider Geelong community,” says Justin Robinson, director of Geelong Grammar School’s Institute of Positive Education.“ Tal and his team at Wholebeing Institute have created an innovative, yearlong blended course which has been extremely well received by participants around the world. We are delighted to partner with Wholebeing Institute and to exclusively bring the Certificate in Whole Person Positive Psychology to Australia.”

Geelong Grammar School exemplifies the successful, real-life application of positive psychology in education. Naturally, Tal and I are thrilled to partner with such pioneers to expand the application into business, leadership, coaching, therapy and in an individual’s life, making a difference personally and professionally.
